How to be respected and admired

Respect is often seen as an afterthought in modern society. Millions of college educated professionals look up to the cast of “The Real Housewives” and “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” as their role models, thus respect is often taken for granted or ignored as an important part of our lives.

Sadly, many people not only do not give respect but also do not know how to command it.

It is still possible to earn respect from those with whom you interact every day.

Your actions do matter These tips will help you command and receive the respect you deserve:

Conduct yourself in a respectful manner.

Be taken seriously by others by acting in a way that communicates this. Be tactful at all times.

You should carry yourself with pride. You should act in a way that would make your parents proud of you. Don’t do something you tell your children not to do.

People will automatically respect you if you’re highly regarded.   Whenever you have to ask others for respect, you are probably dealing with an immature person or misbehaving in a way that makes them disrespect you  .

Always follow the golden rule.

You’ll be treated according to the tone you set when you treat others with respect. You must respect people’s boundaries. When you intentionally cross them, you’re digging your own grave.

The best way to respond to someone who treats you unfairly is to reciprocate their actions with grace and kindness. Be mature; walk away. By doing so, others will perceive you positively and respond positively to you..

Always conduct yourself with class.

Stay calm in sticky situations. Being calm often serves your interests better than lashing out in anger. Praise your friends whenever possible. People will respect you for refusing to gossip and for earning their trust.

Think before you speak, and be aware of your actions and reactions. When you do, you are indirectly commanding the respect you deserve.

Start weeding.

Some people think they’re above all moral laws, and you must realize that. These kinds of people will do what they want, when they want, and will blurt out whatever is in their head with total disregard for anyone else’s emotions.

Don’t let these toxic people into your life. Put yourself first. By allowing yourself to be treated unfairly by others, you’re saying that it’s okay to be treated like a doormat.

Maintain a realistic perspective.

You will be disappointed if you try to equalize with your elders or higher-ups at work. In a certain sense, there will always be a group of people that are above you. You should respect these people.

In social and corporate ranking systems, there is an unspoken rule. As you grow older, you deserve more respect. When you are at the top of the company, you command more respect. One day it will be your turn.

Become more successful.

You should expect respect from others when you’re rewarded for your achievements, whether you succeed in your company or earn a PhD. People are applauded and respected for outstanding achievements.

You should consider continuing your education. You’ll be more confident, make more money, and advance your career. Plus, others will respect your commitment to excellence.

Being honorable is the easiest way to command respect from everyone around you. Hold yourself and your actions to a high standard, and others will inherently recognize the good person you really are.
