TikTok Video Summarizer ("the Extension") is a browser extension that provides AI-powered summaries, transcripts, and chat functionality for TikTok videos. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

Email address
Password (stored securely and hashed by Supabase)

If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google profile email. We do not access any other Google account data.

Video Data

When you use the Extension to summarize or chat about a video, the following is sent to our servers:

The TikTok video URL or video ID
The video content (temporarily downloaded for AI analysis)

Video content is processed in real time and is not stored permanently on our servers. Temporary files are deleted after processing.

User Preferences

The Extension stores the following locally in your browser:

Custom AI instructions you set
API configuration preferences

This data stays on your device and is not sent to our servers unless needed for a request.

Chat History

Chat messages are stored temporarily on the server for the duration of your session (up to 30 minutes of inactivity) to maintain conversation context. They are automatically deleted after the session expires.

Handles user authentication and session management

Google Gemini AI (Video Analysis)

Processes video content to generate summaries, transcripts, and chat responses
Video content is sent to Google's API for analysis

How We Use Your Data

We do not:

Sell your data to third parties
Use your data for advertising
Track your browsing activity outside of tiktok.com
Store video content permanently

Data Security

All communication between the Extension and our servers uses HTTPS encryption
Authentication tokens are managed securely via Supabase
API requests are rate-limited to prevent abuse
Backend authentication is verified on every request

Your Rights

You can:

Delete your account: Contact us to request account deletion
Clear local data: Remove extension data through Chrome's extension settings
Revoke access: Uninstall the extension at any time
