For example, the way we communicate and the way we perform various tasks have become much faster and more automated. The use of computers has proven to be the most logical and beneficial step in the evolution of humanity. While not more than half a century ago, people discovered that most physical work can be replaced by mechanical machines, we are now getting more and more used to computers doing the work for us. However, that does not leave us without a purpose; we are the ones who need to tell computers what to do and how to do it. Software programs have the role of acting as intermediaries between humans and computers and one of the operations they perform is called digitization.

What is digitizing?

The dry definition of digitization says that it is the conversion of an analog signal into a digital signal. Each point and each sample in the analog signal converse digitally, and what you get is the digital form of the same source, be it an image, a sound, or a document. Digitization is what makes transmitting information so easy today. A copy of a document no longer needs just a copier, it can transmit the digital form to an almost infinite number of copies that do not need to paper or ink. The same is true for images, sounds or signals.

Digitization is very useful in many domains. For example, digitizing images and videos is very useful for the editing process. Actually, there are certain steps that must be followed precisely to get the desired results.

• Editing the artwork for the embroidery digitization process. Not all works of art designe for embroidery, so they often need to simplifie for the embroidery machine to interpret correctly.

• Create the stitch file. Once the artwork is digitally transform, a digitizer (or perforator) must set the path for it.

• Set stitch types. Various parts of the design must create using various types of stitches.

• Avoid design changes. When working, embroidery machines create a push and pull effect, which can cause changes. For this reason, the digitizer must use its skills to compensate for possible displacement.
